Exploring digital solutions – taras first app prototype
Traditional artisanship made digital – a few months ago we worked with our advisor, the wonderful UX Designer Franka Blumrich, to develop a prototype for taras artisan app. A digital solution for artisans to connect and collaborate with German customers. The development process followed three key assumptions:
- To fit the working environment of artisans, the digital solution must be mobile (Android native).
- For rural environments with limited internet access, there must be extensive offline functionality.
- Low-barrier usability is necessary to include everyone, regardless of their digital literacy.
Field trip to Sri Lanka
To evaluate and challenge our initial thoughts and assumptions, the field trip to Sri Lanka in February 2025 will allow us to dig deeper into the livelihoods of artisan businesses and enable us to co-create a digital solution that both fits to the needs and capabilities of artisan businesses and German customers.
