Sustainable Entrepreneurship & Social Innovation
As students of Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Social Innovation at Eberswalde University for Sustainable Development, we approached our master thesis with a dual purpose: to contribute meaningful academic research while developing practical insights for our founding startup, tara.
Our journey began with a simple yet powerful question: How do artisans from emerging economies successfully internationalize?
Through tara, we aim to create an innovative matchmaking solution that connects these artisans with global markets in a way that is both economically viable and socially impactful.
This research summary represents more than just academic findings —it’s the foundation of tara’s approach to solving real-world challenges. By immersing ourselves in the complex dynamics of artisan internationalization, we’ve gained invaluable insights that directly shape how tara’s matchmaking solution is designed to address the specific needs and opportunities we’ve identified. What follows is a synthesis of our comprehensive study involving 20 expert interviews across the artisan sector, distilled into actionable insights that form the basis of tara’s mission and methodology.
